Burnley boss Eddie Howe is believed to have made a ‘casual enquiry’ into the availability of Preston North End winger Keith Treacy.
The former Blackburn Rovers man, who joined the relegated Deepdale club in February 2010, netted seven Championship goals last season, including a fine strike in his side’s memorable 4-3 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor.
“We had a casual enquiry from Burnley about Keith,” said North End chairman Maurice Lindsay.
“It was a lightweight enquiry really, asking about his situation.
“As I’ve said before, we won’t let players leave this club unless it suits us.”
