PADIHAM dumped NWCL Divsion One neighbours Colne out of the FA Cup on Saturday when the Storks beat their East Lancashire derby rivals 3-2 at the Arbories.

Martin Parkes opened the scoring for the home side when he fired over the head of Colne keeper Mark Crossley on 15 minutes and saw his shot nestle in the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.

Paul Fildes added to Padiham's lead on 26 minutes, converting a near post cross from Steve Pickup, and things got better for the Storks 15 minutes in to the second half when a Matt Woods free kick found Liam Steele who glanced his header past Crossley to make it 3-0.

Colne hit back in the last 20 minutes to make it a nervy end for the home supporters.

Twice Colne substitute Alex Heap found a way past Storks keeper Rob Batty to pull the deficit pack to 3-2 but when the final whistle sounded it was Padiham through to the next round and a trip to Unibond Premier Ashton United.
