NEIL Hodgson could be on the verge of a move back to World Superbikes following Ducati's decision to quit the American Championship.
The Burnley rider has raced in the United States for the last two years, but the decision by the Italian team will leave Hodgson out of a job at the end of the season.
But the former British and World Superbike champion faces a dilemma.
With no firm offer yet on the table from Ducati, his preferred choice for 2007, he risks missing out on a seat with another manufacturer.
"I can't wait too long because I could miss the deadline with other offers," said Hodgson.
"Having won two titles with Ducati, I'm desperate to work with them again. I'd be very interested in riding in the WSB, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens."
But the 32-year-old also admitted he is tempted to stay in America, where after two fruitless years, he still has unfinished business.
He said: "The options in the States are attractive.I'm talking to almost everyone and I've got offers on the table."
