Blackburn Rovers' capture of Roma striker Shabani Nonda meant the exit door for Shefki Kuqi, who joined Crystal Palace in a deal worth £2.5 million.
Kuqi signed a three-year deal at Selhurst Park.
And he's a player manager Mark Hughes is sorry to see leave Ewood Park.
Hughes said: "We've resisted enquiries for Shefki throughout the summer because we fel he had a role to play.
"But when the bidding got up to that level, it was very difficult to resist."
