Lucas Neill's hopes of a move from Blackburn Rovers to Liverpool fell through on transfer deadline day.
The two clubs failed to agree a deal that would have involved Stephen Warnock moving in the opposite direction.
"We were talking to Liverpool for most of the day and there was a potential deal involving a player swap but it didn't happen in the end," said chairman John Williams.
