Lancashire chased down 121 in 15 overs to record a thrilling Roses win over Yorkshire in County Championship Division One.

The Tykes resumed on 131 for two, 58 behind, at Aigburth and Joe Sayers (75) and Andrew Gale (60) saw off the deficit.

Gary Ballance (57) and Adil Rashid (52) continued the good work but three wickets fell for one run just after tea, helping Gary Keedy to figures of six for 133.

Last pair Steven Patterson and Oliver Hannon-Dalby survived more than 14 overs to give Yorkshire hope and leave the Red Rose needing eight an over, and Rashid removed openers Paul Horton and Stephen Moore in successive balls in a spectacular first spell of three for 20 in two overs.

But Steven Croft hit 28 from 19 balls and Farveez Maharoof 31 not out from 19, the latter taking a six and a two from the first two balls of the final over, bowled by Rashid, to see Lancashire home with four balls to spare.
