ROSSENDALE United may be forced to move ground as the club continues to fight for its future.
United were forced to postpone Vodkat League fixtures earlier this season after the water supply was cut off at its Dark Lane ground for non-payment of bills.
They did go on to finish the campaign, but the club still faces going out of business.
An emergency meeting was held this week, when owner Andrew Connolly gave a commitment to help the club survive its current difficulties, which includes debts of more than £50,000.
Ron Ashworth, chairman of the Supporters Association, said: “I was really pleased Andrew turned up and put an end to a lot of speculation.
“He was also refreshingly honest, has opened the books so we now know what we’re all up against.
“I think we can work together and our aim is, during the close season, to get a new structure and have everything in place ready for the start of the 2011/12 season.
“There’s an awful lot to do but if we can get more people involved I’m confident it will help spread the load and we can make it work.”
He said it was accepted at the meeting that the club would be unable to retain the Dark Lane ground and eventually have to relocate in the future.
A follow-up meeting is to be held at Rawtenstall Cricket Club on Thursday May 26, 7.30pm start.
Anyone with an interest in the club is welcome to attend.
