ASSISTANT manager Jason Tindall has called for a team effort to get Burnley out of their rut, before it’s too late to make the play-offs.

The Clarets go into tonight’s trip to Nottingham Forest seven points adrift of sixth place in the Championship table with a game in hand.

With seven in total still to play, Tindall knows time is on their side to make a late push.

But he warned Burnley have to be better as a unit to improve on a run of one point from five games.

“We’re not going through a great spell at the minute but there are a lot of teams in a similar boat to us currently,” he said.

“We’ve done a lot of thinking and a lot of talking and we’re looking to turn our form and our fortunes around pretty quickly.

“We went on a fantastic run with some great performances and we went from working extremely hard to all of a sudden to certain things not quite going our way and certain things not quite being at the level they were and that everybody expects.

“The standards (the players) set were very high and they produced good performances and got good results.

“We’re looking to reproduce that kind of ethic, that kind of commitment and desire that everybody showed and I’m sure if we can do that again with the ability we’ve got among the squad our results will change.”

He added: “It’s been a difficult time.

“A lot of it is confidence and we’re looking to get that confidence back and our performance levels back to what they were.

“We haven’t taken our chances at times when we’ve had the better of games.

“If we can get back to working extremely hard as a team and not as individuals then I’m sure the results will follow that.

“We’ve got to get back to basics and back to what we did well when we were on a good run.

“First and foremost that was working extremely hard as a team.

“I think if we can do that regardless of whatever personnel is out on the pitch, with the ability we’ve got we’ll get results.”
