NELSON'S best chances came in the first half at Glossop, but ironically they found themselves two goals down at the interval.
And there was no way back for the NWCL Division One newcomers after that.
Sam Hind gave Glossop the lead with a spectacular dipping shot after only five minutes.
Craig Bradshaw forced a good save as Nelson responded, while Robbie Smith volleyed wide.
Glossop added their second from the penalty spot on the half-hour after the ball struck Darren Fullard's arm and Paul Nibloe converted.
Paul Barrett and Bradshaw went close after that but were both denied by goalkeeper Stewart Williams.
Glossop dominated after the break and Bobby Harris had to be at his best to keep the scoreline down, while Fullard made a goalline clearance.
