ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman's Premiership wishes have come true.

The Reds boss was dreaming of a Carling Cup draw with a Premiership club in round two, and on Saturday they were handed a trip to newly promoted Watford as reward for beating Nottingham Forest in the opening round last week.

"You would have wanted a Premiership club, and we've got one, so we can't grumble," he said.

"But that won't even enter my thought process until the week of the game."

Instead Coleman will be focused on getting more points on the board as the Reds bid to make a steady climb up the League Two table.

The Stanley boss makes no secret of his desire to win at all costs. However, on the back of their 1-1 draw at home to struggling Rochdale, he has admitted that his side's four-game unbeaten run may not entirely be in their best interests.

"For the main part against Stockport we were the better team, we were the better team for the main part on Saturday but we've only come away with two points. We'd have been better off winning one and losing one.

"We started the game really brightly and if we can keep starting games like that we'll be okay.

"But we've conceded four goals from set plays and that's disappointing.

"I think maybe a little bit of luck didn't go our way on Saturday.

"Their keeper made three world-class saves and you can't legislate for that. And we were disappointed with the goal we had disallowed - we'll have to look at that again. We thought it was a good goal.

"But if you keep making chances eventually you'll win games and you'll win them comfortably."

He added: "It was a good game for a neutral, not so much for the manager.

"We have to win games when we're on top.

"We'll just keep our heads down and try to win as many games as we can, starting with Lincoln on Friday."
