CHRIS McCann scored his first goal at Turf Moor in over two years as he completed a full game since beginning his comeback from knee surgery.
The midfielder stepped up his recovery by completing 90 minutes against Macclesfield Reserves, and opened the scoring in a 2-0 win.
Trialist Louis-Rae Beadle, a former Arsenal trainee now with Conference South side Hampton and Richmond, crossed for McCann to head in on the half-hour.
The eye-catching Beadle was then the recipient of Dominic Knowles' terrific pass to make it 2-0 three minutes before the break.
Despite pressure from the visitors, and late chances for Burnley's second string in the second half, that's the way the scoreline stayed.
Knowles looked certain to add a third in the final 10 minutes but was denied by goalkeeper Jack Cudworth low to his right.
