CLARETS legend Jimmy Robson has allowed his memorabilia to go on display at the club.

The former inside forward has loaned items including his 1959/60 First Division Championship medal and FA Cup runners-up medal.

It was in that 1962 final that Robson scored the 100th FA Cup final goal at the old Wembley, and the shirt he wore in that game against Tottenham Hotspur has been included in the collection, along with two Charity Shield medals, after he was selected to play for an FA XI at White Hart Lane when Spurs did the double, two years after Burnley lifted the title.

“I’d much rather they were at the club than in a drawer where nobody sees them,” said Robson, who scored 100 senior goals in 242 appearances for Burnley between 1956 and 1965, including 18 the year they were crowned champions of England, five of which came in an 8-0 demolition of Nottingham Forest.

“Hopefully they will bring back memories for everyone who sees them.”
