COLNE failed to heed the warnings of manager Nigel Coates as the crashed to defeat at Vodkat Premier League strugglers Formby.

Manager Nigel Coates warned his players to escape a tough battle against a side battling for survival.

Formby launched an aerial assault on the Colne penalty area and, from one such attack, took the lead in the 15th minute through James Robinson.

But the Reds just before the break when Danny Boyle headed home. Colne piled on the pressure after the break but, a second Robinson goal against the run of play in the 53rd minute sealed victory.
