TOMMY Turner and Adrian Bellamy scored hat-tricks as Bacup made it a magnificent seven – and that was after St Helens had taken the lead.

The Saints stunned Brent Peters’ side in to action after James Crayton had given the visitors a 13th minute lead.

They were level within a minute when Bellamy fired home from close range after good work by Daniel Cocks.

Bacup paired Haydn Paul and Turner up front and the new look strikeforce comb-ined to give Borough the lead just before the break – Haydn picking out Turner for an easy tap-in.

Bellamy scored the first of his two penalties on 53 minutes when Cocks was tripped in the box.

Despite leading 3-1 a mix-up between keeper Matthew Wrigley and Laquan Esdaile, nearly gifted the Saints a second goal before Wrigley was called in to action soon after.

But any hopes of a fightback were over when Turner made it 4-1 in the 59th minute after more good work from the impressive Cocks.

Turner turned provider three minutes later when he picked out Lee Oldham’s run in the box who headed home to make it 5-1.

Bacup had chances to make it six before they finally did, Bellamy completing his hat-trick from the spot in the 70th minute after Oldham was felled in the area.

Matthew Hampson and Cocks both went close before Turner wrapped up his hat-trick after some good approach play by Esdaile.

It marked a productive few days for Bacup who had beaten Rossendale United 2-1 on Thursday evening.
