Leicester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson said he was a frustrated man despite seeing his team defeat Burnley 4-0 in the npower Championship.

Diomansy Kamara put the Foxes ahead before a brace from fomer Blackburn Rovers striker Paul Gallagher and Patrick Van Aanholt’s late goal secured a convincing victory.

It was the fourth time the season the Foxes had score four or more goals in the Championship.

Eriksson said he was delighted with the performance but admitted he was disappointed his players could not reproduce the same sparkling form on a weekly basis.

The impressive win follows points dropped at Middlesborough last week and a home defeat to Portsmouth.

While the win puts City within five points of the play-offs with six matches left but the Swede feels they could be closer.

Eriksson said: “We were back to form, it makes me happy but also I am a little bit angry.

“It was a top-class performance from everyone, including the three subs. Everyone did fantastic.

“But we should be playing like this more often, and that makes me angry.

“Today we were focused. There were no mistakes, we were patient after going 1-0 in keeping the ball - top, top class.

“But the players we have, and the team we have – we should do it more often.”

The former England manager is calling on his side to reproduced the heights of the Burnley performance in their remaining games of the season – starting at home to Crystal Palace tonight before going promotion chasing Reading on Saturday.

He said: “I hope we can do it for the last six games because if we play football like this, it is not easy to beat us.

“We have played good football in most of our games, not every game, but we have made silly mistakes that have cost us a lot of points.”

Eriksson singled out debutant Kamara for praise after the striker linked-up at the Walkers Stadium on loan from Fulham.

He combined with Ayegbeni Yakubu to kick-start Leicester’s afternoon with a fine finish and Eriksson added: “Kamara has a good technique, pace and can score goals.

“He has shown that in the past, especially in this division, that he scores goals.

“He was very good for us and couldn’t do much better than he did.”
