What a fantastic week to be an Accrington Stanley fan two home wins, seven goals for the Reds and the ownership battle has been won by Ilyas Khan.
There were times during the 4-0 thrashing of Hereford last Wednesday when we looked unstoppable and the victory was capped with a goal from Sean McConville that was worthy of a much higher stage.
Then on Thursday, the news Stanley fans have been waiting for, Eric Whalley had signed on the dotted line and Khan was majority share holder.
It would be remiss of me not to say thank you to Eric for the good times as it was he who had the vision to bring John Coleman and Jimmy Bell to the Crown Ground.
We need to reconnect with the people of the town and the stay away fans. After seven home wins on the bounce the football on show should be bringing them flooding back.
And what of that seventh home win in a row?
Northampton were a decent team and the 3-0 half time score flattered us.
The sign of a promotion-winning team is that they collect three points even when not playing at their best.
We have two further games this week starting with tonight’s home game against Southend followed by the short trip on Friday night to Macclesfield.
I cannot see either team posing much of a threat to the Reds unbeaten run and with the way we are playing when it comes to promotion, I believe.
