BLACKBURN claimed maximum North Lancs/ Cumbria points as they beat a good Eccles side in convincing style.
After an even opening 25 minutes, the locals went in front thanks to a Paul Bleasdale penalty before he chased his own kick over the top to touchdown in style to make it 8-0.
Bleasdale then booted the conversion to give Blackburn breathing space - and they started to dominate with Richard Maudsley finishing off after fine teamwork opened up Eccles.
Bleasdale’s conversion made it 18-0 at the break and Blackburn started the second half as they finished the first as captain Paul Millea went in from the blindside.
Bleasdale’s boot made the score 25-0 and was also on target again to convert after Maudsley went over for his second try of the game and Eccles, who had been top of the table for much of the season, were very much second best.
That Blackburn dominance was rewarded by a final try as Joe Holden was put in by Sam Morgan before Eccles finally crossed the line after errors in midfield allowed them in for a consolation.
