There is no better feeling than an away win at one of your bitterest rivals.

To come from behind for the second time in the season to do it, through a fantastic goal, is the icing on the cake.

The North End fans were so confident going into the game, and at 1-0 up they genuinely believed the bragging rights were going to stay stay at Deepdale. How foolish they must feel now, eh?

First, Jay Rodriguez dragged us level to quieten them down just 10 minutes after they took the lead.

Then Jack Cork, who boss Eddie Howe rightly hailed as one of the most consistent performers week in week out, broke Preston hearts by throwing himself where many others would not to seal a win which puts us smack bang back in the play-off shake-up.

Oh, and it sticks sun-tanned Brown even deeper in the do-do at the other end. Still, I hear League One is very nice at this time of the year!

After three very tough away games – okay, two and a trip to Deepdale – who would have thought we’d have collected seven points? Not me, that is for sure.

Such is the turn around under Howe, that even going a goal behind – which we do quite often – no longer worries me.

I still think there are plenty of areas we can improve and for me, there are still players in the side that wouldn’t be. But who am I tell Eddie how to do his job?

We have a run of three games in a week starting next Saturday at home to Palace before games at Hull City and at the Turf against Millwall.

I see all those games as winnable but even if we were to end that sequence of games with at least five points I'd be relatively happy.

The key right now is to put together a consistent run if positive results because the division is so tight that whichever team holds its nerve in the run-in to May will get promotion.

With the new man fully settled in and confidence restored to all aspects of the club, there has never been a better time to capitalise.

Promotion looked to be slipping away rapidly before Christmas but now it is back to being a distinct possibility.

The excitement on a matchday is back and I have full faith in Eddie and the lads to deliver what we all crave.
