Blackburn Hawks’ chances of making the English National Ice Hockey League play-off positions were given a boost with a 5-0 win over Sheffield Spartans.
The win put pressure on the teams above the Hawks.
Hawks also put in a big display against Northern League leaders Fife Flyers, but were beaten 5-2, with goals coming from Rick Hughes and Tom King.
It proved to be a tough test against the Scots, however coach Jared Owen was happy to come away with a respectable result following two heavy defeats against the Flyers earlier in the season.
