BLACKBURN Rovers defender Phil Jones has signed a contract extension keeping him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2016.
The England under 21 star has signed a one-year extension to the five year-deal signed in the summer as Rovers reward his impressive progression.
The 18-year-old is currently recovering from surgery on a torn cartilage to his right knee but is expected back in action within a month.
Boss Steve Kean said: "This is great news, especially on the back of so many other key players committing themselves to the club.
"Phil has made incredible progress over the past year or so and his form, prior to his unfortunate injury setback, attracted a lot of attention.
"It speaks volumes that he is happy to stay here for the long term and we are all absolutely delighted."
