BLACKBURN Rovers seem in no rush to secure Junior Hoilett on a long-term deal - I just hope they don't live to regret it.

The young Canadian has undoubtedly been Rovers' star attraction over the past couple of months and his performances must have made some of the Premier League's big boys sit up and take notice.

Steve Kean last week insisted there was no hurry to sign him up beyond the summer of 2012 and you can see the sense in wanting him to focus on his form.

Hoilett has also stated his desire to remain at Ewood Park longer term and there is no concern from his side about the lack of talks over a new contract.

The less time his current deal has to run though, the more precarious Rovers' position becomes.

Hoilett has shown signs he is fast becoming one of the Premier League's hottest young prospects and surely it can't be long before Rovers ask him to commit.

After all with the likes of Chris Samba, Ryan Nelsen, Michel Salgado, Mark Bunn, Paul Robinson, Jason Roberts and Phil Jones, we don't want Hoilett feeling left out.

There is no panic but seeing Junior commit for the long term would certainly be another huge boost for the Venky's regime.
