According to the song sometimes it’s hard to be a woman – well in the winter it’s always hard to be a Stanley fan.
The bad weather has once again taken away a valuable Saturday home game for the Reds.
Cash is very tight at the moment and with each postponement another set of creditors will have to wait for payment.
We are, as a club, in a tremendously tight corner and we need to see action from the top right now.
With this in mind I am 100 per cent behind our chief executive Rob Heys. I have known Rob for about 20 years and he is a loyal friend to both me and the club.
It cannot have been easy for him over the past two years with all the uncertainty at the club over the whole ownership issue.
Now he has publicly stated the club’s current position and highlighted his preferred option for the future, I hope we can all see some light at the end of the tunnel albeit still somewhat in the distance.
Combine this news from Rob with the appointment of Peter Shaw to the board of directors and I think we can all agree the time for change is here.
If Ilyas Khan does not get the chance to turn the club into a fans-owned operation with a new stadium, then I fear that once again the lights at Accrington Stanley maybe switched off.
