COLNE kicked a ball for the first time in six weeks and it showed as they made hard work of beating struggling Stone.

The Reds took the lead in the 21st minute when Andy Tinker volleyed home after good work by Mark Threlfall.

Tinker was denied by Stone keeper Barry Weston just before the break but they doubled their lead on 65 minutes when Danny Boyle and Threfall combined to tee up Sam Morris who headed home at the far post.

Matt Bradbury pulled one back for Stone then hit the post but rusty Colne survived to seal the win.
