ACCRINGTON Stanley's home match against Southend United was postponed 90 minutes before kick-off today because of a waterlogged pitch.
The pitch at the Crown Ground has been heavy for several weeks, with one area of the playing surface particularly vulnerable to rain.
Stanley had been confident on Friday that the game would go ahead but referee Carl Boyeson was forced to call off the League Two fixture at 1.30pm today, with many Southend supporters already in the area after making the long journey from Essex.
