AFC DARWEN will be bidding to recover from a midweek defeat to Atherton Collieries when they travel to Leek CSOB tomorrow.
Darwen were able to return to action at the Anchor Ground on Tuesday, incredibly playing at home for the first time since October 26 after the winter weather decimated their fixture list.
But the Salmoners slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Atherton Collieries in the Vodkat First Division, despite going ahead through Steve Lee.
Colls had claimed a 7-0 win in the reverse fixture earlier in the season but Darwen could have claimed a point when Karl Turner’s penalty was saved late on.
“I thought we deserved a point from the match, and we were given a chance but unfortunately didn’t take it,” said manager Kenny Langford.
