DANNY Fox believes the best is yet to come from Burnley, and has challenged the Clarets to make a late surge into the play-off pack.

Eddie Howe’s side find themselves six points adrift of sixth place in the Championship going into two key away games, at Watford tomorrow and Cardiff on Tuesday.

With both sides having promotion ambitions of their own, it presents an opportunity for Burnley to make ground on the leading pack.

And after a 2-1 win over second placed Norwich City at Turf Moor on Saturday, Fox believes they are coming good at the right time.

“This is where the league is won and lost,” he said.

“There is always a team that has a run, which seems to start around February/March time, and with the players we’ve got I don’t see any reason why we can’t be the team that comes from the back of the pack and comes storming through.

“We need a few wins and positive results and I think we can start by getting that at Watford on Saturday.”

Poor away form has proved Burnley’s Achilles heel, not just this season, but stretching back towards the end of their promotion campaign in 2009.

However, despite a disappointing defeat at Doncaster just over a week ago, Fox is confident they are showing signs of a resurgence on their travels.

“We went to Portsmouth and showed how good we are away from home and I believe we can go to Watford and get three points,” said the 24-year-old.
