Blackburn Hawks will be going all out this weekend to end a five-game losing streak and get their season back on track.

Hawks travel to Nottingham Lions in the English National Ice-Hockey League tomorrow night, fresh from a 5-3 defeat at home to the same opposition just six days ago.

Failing to convert their chances has been the Hawks’ Achilles heel in recent weeks, but head coach Jared Owen is confident of a role reversal this weekend.

“We feel we should have got a better result against them last time out,” he said. “We created the chances, we just didn’t put the puck in the net.

“We’ve got a full squad, so we’ve got plenty of bodies going down, which should hopefully mean less tiredness and enable us to play at a good level.

“The guys should be firing on all cylinders and if we play like we did last week, I’m confident we can get a better result.”

Tomorrow’s crunch clash will be the fourth time the two teams have met this season.

Hawks edged a five-goal thriller in the opening encounter in October, before suffering a heavy 9-4 defeat on their travels a month later.
