JASON Tindall has challenged Burnley to erase their inconsistencies and start another unbeaten run.

The Clarets lost the first of Eddie Howe’s four games in charge after Michael Duff’s second-half own goal at Doncaster Rovers was enough to separate the two teams on Tuesday night.

But assistant manager Tindall insists the players, boosted by transfer window recruits Charlie Austin and Marvin Bartley, are going into this afternoon’s visit of Norwich City with confidence.

“We were disappointed to lose on Tuesday because previous to that we’d only lost one in six,” said Tindall, referring to two of caretaker manager Stuart Gray’s four games in charge before their appointment.

“Now that’s gone our main focus is to go on another unbeaten run and try to string a few consistent results together.

“We know what we’re capable of and providing we can be consistent in our performance and our work-rate we’re confident we’ll get positive results.

“We’re a good side and we’ve got some fantastic players.

“We’ve just got to make sure that we can perform consistently on a regular basis.

“If we can do that we can string some positive results together.

“If you win two or three games on the bounce and you can find yourself shooting up three or four places and that’s our aim.”

Former Bournemouth defender Tindall added that both he and Howe continue to be impressed by the squad available to them since they arrived at Turf Moor.

“The players have been great. They’ve shown great work ethic on the training field and in the games they’ve played,” he said.

“Everything’s very positive.

“Things take time. There’s no quick fix and it will take a while to put things in place and to see the progress.

“But what we’ve seen so far is very positive and we’ve got every confidence that things will look very good.”
