DESPITE the best efforts of the Crewe groundstaff the pitch at Gresty Road succumbed to the frost on Saturday.
We now have to wait for yet another rearranged fixture for the Reds, in what is beginning to look like a fixture pile-up in the last third of the season.
Transfer deadline day saw some activity on the player front and there has also been some fantastic news with a new signing on the Stanley board.
Peter Shaw, the chair of the Accrington Stanley Supporters Fund, has been accepted as a new Stanley director and I am sure will be involved in a day-to-day capacity to help try and bring transparency to our club.
I feel that this may be the next step along the road to fan stewardship of the club.
Last night we offered a warm welcome to the travelling Morecambe fans, and as we all know the history between the clubs goes back a long way.
Our two clubs represent all that is good about football in England, a sense of belonging to our towns and growth through endeavour and graft.
