ROQUE Santa Cruz and Damien Duff are being lined up for an Ewood Park return as Rovers boss Steve Kean focuses on new signings rather then his own managerial future.
Blackburn Rovers owner Anuradha Desai said yesterday she was ready to offer Kean a long term deal after being impressed with his early tenure – but the manager said he was unaware of any such developments.
Mrs Desai also said Rovers were hoping to sign Duff from Fulham and Barcelona’s 19-year-old striker Ruben Rochina although Kean declined to comment on individual targets.
It is understood the duo are on Kean’s January wish-list along with former Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz and Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam.
No official offers have yet been made by Rovers, although the club have made an enquiry to attempt to secure Santa Cruz back at Ewood Park on loan in the next couple of days - having sold him to Manchester City for an estimated £17million in June 2009.
Aston Villa and Lazio are also understood to be interested in a temporary move for the Paraguayan, while Fulham are understood to also be watching the situation with interest.
Rovers are also expected to have a fight on their hands to sign either Adam or Duff, with neither club expected to be too willing sellers.
Mrs Desai’s public interest in Duff will not go down well with Fulham boss Mark Hughes, with Kean admitting he had not made contact with him.
