ACCRINGTON Stanley are in talks to make Blackburn RUFC their new permanent training base.

Stanley have had to train at several different venues in recent times because of problems finding an outdoor pitch that met their requirements, but they are now in discussions with Blackburn RUFC about using their Ramsgreave Drive base.

The League Two club would be expected to hire out the venue but the pitches are maintained by the rugby club’s groundsman.

There had been plans for Stanley to start training in Blackburn on Monday, but that has been delayed because of the snow in recent days.
