BLACKBURN Rovers manager Mark Hughes has pulled out of the running to sign Didier Agathe.
The former Celtic midfielder, who has spent the last three weeks on trial with Rovers, was due to join the rest of the squad in Holland for the latest phase of their pre-season preparations.
But the Frenchman pulled out of the trip last night and now looks set to join another club after Hughes failed to give him the guarantees he was looking for.
A free agent after being released by Celtic, Agathe needed a quick decision on his future, knowing that time is running out to secure a move elsewhere.
He informed Rovers earlier this week that another club was interested in his services, so, with Hughes still undecided on whether to offer him a contract or not, he didn't step in the way of the 30-year-old trying his luck elsewhere.
