THE wait is almost over. In just two days time we will be playing our first game back in the Football League, and there isn't a single person involved with the club who's not excited about it.
The attention surrounding such an historic occasion is something that we've been happy to embrace.
And hopefully we'll be able to use the attention, excitement and euphoria to our advantage at Chester City on Saturday.
Our preparations have been good, ending with our mini tour of Scotland last weekend.
Everyone played their part and, from the second half of the Partick Thistle game onwards, the performances were pleasing.
Being the favourites going into games against Scottish League Two sides like East Fife shows how much we've moved on, and there were some great goals to win it in style on Monday night.
But now it's down to the real business.
Chester haven't scored many in pre-season, whereas we've found the net quite a bit.
But I don't take much notice of things like that because results in pre-season count for nothing.
Whatever happens on Saturday though, I hope the people of the town get behind us there, and even more so for our first home game on Tuesday night.
The manager John Coleman and I don't want to look too far ahead, but we just hope that everyone comes out to support us against Darlington.
We want to get off to a good start and make our ground an intimidating place.
