THERE will be four British cycling champions on show in Ramsbottom on Sunday at Lancashire Road Club’s annual time trial up The Rake.
Ben Kellett, James Dobbin, Matt Clinton and Lynn Hamel will all be in pursuit of glory amongst the field of 70 competitors from around the country.
Roads around the venue will be closed from 11.45am until 1.30pm for the competition, which is being taken on by some tandem riders this year.
There is a £500 first prize, donated by Geoff Smith Cycles, with various other awards for other high achievers.
The four British champions will be bidding to break the course records, which stand at 2 minutes 14 seconds for the men and 3mins 12secs for the women.
The prizes will be handed out at the Shoulder of Mutton pub by the Mayor of Bury, Cllr John Byrne.
Spectators are welcome to cheer on the riders with the Bury Clarion team hoping for some good local support.
