ACCRINGTON Stanley have announced that they intend to finalise new contracts for management duo John Coleman and Jimmy Bell by the end of the week as they bid to stave off interest from Lincoln City.
The future of Stanley’s long-serving pair has been thrown into doubt after they refused to rule themselves out of contention for the current vacancy at fellow League Two club Lincoln, suggesting they would like to talk to the Imps amid frustration over delays in receiving new deals promised to them almost 12 months ago.
It is understood that Coleman and Bell are top of Lincoln’s wanted list.
The club have now been forced to resume contract talks and released a statement saying: “Negotiations are well underway. An announcement regarding the pair will be made before the end of the week.”
Both Stanley and Ray Putterill will attend FA hearings on October 20 after the midfielder played in the club’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first round win at Tranmere – a day after he was due to start a 42-day ban.
