BLACKBURN coach John Morgan told his excitable young players that they will have to calm down if they want to return to winning ways.
Having seen his side play their way back in to the contest after conceding sloppy tries, Blackburn lacked cool heads when it mattered most as Aspatria left with all the points.
“I can’t fault their enthu-siasm,” said Morgan. “But I think they just need to calm down at times.
“We have a young side and we get excitable, mainly when we are camped in the opponents 22 and we are just making the wrong decisions.”
Blackburn battled back from 15-0 down to get within a score at 18-12 thanks to tries from winger Richard Maudsley and Phil Hesketh with Paul Bleasdale adding a conversion.
“We had a tremendous 10 to 15 minute period, scored two great tries and were right back in it,” added Morgan. “But we showed that lack of experience when it mattered most.”
