BURNLEY rode a barrage of second-half pressure to earn an excellent point at Millwall, after playing more than 80 minutes with 10 men.

The Clarets had Clarke Carlisle sent off after only seven minutes for what seemed an innocuous touchline challenge on Theo Robinson.

The tackle was at worst mis-timed, but whether it warranted a straight red card was a matter of much debate.

Nevertheless, Burnley got on with their job, despite seeing Andre Bikey go off moments later with a rib injury, and took the lead through Jay Rodriguez midway through the first half when he headed in Chris Eagles' right wing cross.

Millwall equalised four minutes later, when Robinson flicked on Steve Morison's left wing cross and Scott Barron turned it in.

Brian Jensen made a key save on the stroke of half-time to deny Alan Dunne, not for the first time this afternoon as the right back proved a threat from corners.

Jensen was also made to work by second-half substitutes Danny Schofield and Neil Harris.

The Clarets did enough to hang on to a well-earned point, and might even have won it in stoppage time, but Eagles couldn't hit the target after cutting in from the left.
