BLACKBURN Rovers are close to offering Herold Goulon a Premier League second chance after the Frenchman impressed during a trial at Brockhall last week.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder will continue training with Sam Allardyce’s men after the weekend and is expected to undergo several medical tests as Rovers step up their interest.
While there is intense competition in that position, with Steven Nzonzi, Vince Grella, Amine Linganzi, Phil Jones and Keith Andrews all capable of playing there, Goulon’s exploits over the last few weeks could yet persuade Allardyce to attempt to tie up a deal with him.
If he continues to impress into next week, and successfully completes his medicals, Rovers could be offer the free agent a deal by the middle of next week.
