Blue Star Aces Under Nines are learning to play football the right way.
The newly-formed team has yet to win a game but manager Paul Newsham is just happy his side are enjoying playing.
“My focus with them is getting them to play nice football as opposed to winning,” said Newsham whose side play in the East Lancs Football Alliance and debuted in the Forbes Football Tournament.
“They love turning up for training and love playing games.”
The team, captained by Zac Hargreaves, have scored twice so far this season through Jacob Kelly and Max Kenyon.
“At this age it is all about participating and playing some lovely football which they have done up to now.”
