CLITHEROE travelled to Tyldesley looking to make it back-to-back wins but things just did not go their way.
The Maroon and Golds will see this as the one that got away as they let victory slip through their grasp.
The game started brightly enough for Clitheroe with pressure result-ing in a penalty in front of the post which was duly taken by Lafrance-schina to give them an early advantage.
Tyldesley hit back with a try in the corner but a second Lafrance-schina penalty made it 6-5 to the visitors. Clitheroe were looking to extend their lead but a loose ball was seized upon by Tyldesley who raced up the park to score a converted try.
But back came Clitheroe and, after good work by Ed Thornber, Nathan Peel smashed over near the posts to make the conversion easy for Lafranceschina as Clitheroe were back in the lead 13-12. But the first half scoring wasn’t done and another run in from distance saw Tyldesley score again and lead 17-13 at the break.
Both sides had chances to score in the second half but it was Tyldesley who got the decisive try to take the game away from Clitheroe who face Pendle at Littlemoor on Saturday (kick off 2pm).
