Clitheroe had to play the waiting game to beat gritty Radcliffe and stay in third place in Evo-Stik First Division North.
The Blues made the breakthrough on the hour mark when Ashley Parillon scored with a fine strike after good work by Tom Williams.
Parillon almost doubled the lead minutes later when he met an Alex Brees cross right in front of goal but a decent reflex save from the keeper kept the ball out.
Radcliffe piled on the pressure in the closing stages but were hit with a sucker punch in time added on when Williams raced on to a long pass by Joe Roberts’ to score from close range.
