ACCRINGTON Stanley's unbeaten start to their League Two campaign is over after they slipped to defeat at Port Vale this afternoon.

Stanley had avoided defeat in their first seven league matches but Marc Richards put Vale ahead in the 31st minute when he fired into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Another former Blackburn Rovers player, Jemal Johnson, then set up substitute Louis Dodds for the second nine minutes from time.
