ANDRE Bikey has urged Burnley to become “unbeatable” at Turf Moor by picking up where they left off against Bolton.

The Clarets once more made the Premier League sit up and take notice after claiming their fourth Carling Cup scalp in two seasons, knocking out former boss Owen Coyle in the process, with a 1-0 win over Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Bikey was again at his belligerent best to claim back-to-back clean sheets, following a league shut-out at Crystal Palace last Saturday, to maintain a 100 per cent start at home, while Chris Eagles, Jay Rodriguez and matchwinner Wade Elliott caught the eye with some excellent forward play.

And as Burnley bid to continue their Championship chall-enge at home to Bristol City tomorrow, Bikey has urged them to transfer their blistering cup form into the league.

“It was really nice to beat a team like Bolton, and personally I am happy because I tested my level,” said the Cameroon defender.

“After a game like that, I really believe we can get promotion.

“We played a really good side and showed we can compete.

“We have a difficult game now against Bristol City, but if we keep the tempo in our play, no-one can beat us at home.

“We know the target this season is promotion because we think we are a Premier League team, but we have to be focused, and try to do the right things to reach our goal.

“Everyone is happy in the dressing room because we are playing very well, we are playing with a high tempo, and we have our moments in the games – we scored the goal against Bolton, and we could have scored more.

“If we keep playing like that, we will be hard to beat, but we have to play every game like that, or for a long time in games.

“I hope we can keep that shape and tempo and achieve our target.”

But the 25-year-old has warned against losing their defensive focus.

“It was nice to keep a clean sheet. It’s good for motivation and nice for the team,” he said.

“We know we have made some mistakes, conceding goals, so it is good to keep clean sheets, because we always feel we can score, especially at home.”

Of putting one over their former manager, who quit the club to join Bolton in January, Bikey added: “The atmosphere was amazing, calling Owen ‘Judas’ was funny, and we were happy with the win as well.

“But it’s life, he had to find something better, and we understand that, it’s football and you have to accept that.”
