PLEASINGTON’S Jack Brooks fell short of winning the 14th Faldo Series Europe Grand Final despite a tremendous start at the Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.
The Lancashire ace, 19, finished on seven over par over 54 holes, nine shots behind eventual winner, 15-year-old Japanese prodigy Masamichi Ito.
Yet Brooks, who qualified by winning the UK Champion-ship last month, co-led the Grand Final with Ito after Tuesday’s opening round of 70.
The teenager slipped down the leaderboard after a second round 75, and finished with 78 yesterday.
Brogan Townend, also of Pleasington, finished 11th overall in the Under 16s girls category.
