JAY Rodriguez was named in an attacking Burnley line-up as Brian Laws looked to turn up the heat on Owen Coyle in this third round Carling Cup clash at Turf Moor.
It was Coyle’s first visit back to the ground he left behind when he quit to take over as Bolton boss, taking most of his backroom team as well, in January.
That another former Clarets favourite, Robbie Blake, was in the visitors’ starting line-up, just added spice to the tie.
Rodriguez, star man at Selhurst Park on Saturday, replaces Ross Wallace, while Graham Alexander returns in place of Dean Marney.
Burnley: Grant, Mears, Carlisle, Bikey, Fox, Cork, Alexander, Elliott, Rodriguez, Iwelumo, Eagles. Subs: Jensen, Duff, Marney, Paterson, Cort, Easton, Thompson.
Bolton: Bogdan, Steinsson, Ricketts, Knight, Alonso, Blake, Mark Davies, Cohen, Taylor, Klasnic, Moreno. Subs: Lainton, Robinson, Muamba, Holden, Elmander, Petrov, Lee.
Referee: Mark Clattenburg (England)
