Rossendale player/coach James Bramhall praised his side’s discipline and defence as they made it back-to-back victories in National League Three North.
While fly half Bramhall picked up a personal haul of 13 points, including the game’s opening try, he said victory was down to the team’s ability to keep their hosts at bay.
He said: “We were not at our best but it is a massive positive coming away with a well deserved win against a team that were fired up and hunting for their first win of the season.
“Discipline again was outsta-nding along with our defence.”
Bramhall opened the scoring after racing on to a Paddy Pole offload.
Bramhall converted and added a penalty before Billing-ham hit back with a try and penalty to trail 13-8 at the break.
The hard-running Matt Mac-Kenzie ran in Dale’s second try and after Billingham rallied to cut the gap to 18-13, Jamie Albinson’s well taken try from a back row move clinched an impressive victory for Rossendale.
