JOHN Morgan left match-day duties to his trusty lieute-nants as Blackburn bounced back with a win.
With Morgan unavailable, Paul Bleasdale, Dino Radice and Paul Millea took over responsibilities.
And the three helped mastermind a hard-earned win - although it was a game plan Morgan more than hand a helping hand in.
“We decided to bring back Gareth Bullen and John Beeston to add a bit more experience to our forwards and that seemed to do the trick.
“It’s what we decided in midweek but I am delighted for the boys who took over, by all accounts it was a very good displays.
“We didn’t concede any tries but on the downside, we conceded 15 penalties, which is far too many in this division.”
It wasn’t just the coaching line-up that had to be reshuffled as captain Millea was sidelined with Bleasdale taking over as skipper.
“Bleasdale took over and was a real inspiration and led from the front,” added Morgan.
A try in each half by Richard Maudsley and Phil Hesketh set up the victory with Hesketh also adding four penalties.
Keswick points all came from five penalties.
Blackburn travel up to Cumbria on Saturday to face league leaders Workington with injury doubts over Bob Townsend and Bleasdale who both came off during the victory over Keswick.
