BURNLEY earned their first clean sheet in over 18 months to secure a second away point of the season with a goalless draw at Crystal Palace.
But Brian Laws will wonder how they aren't returning to Turf Moor with a first win on their travels in the bag after bossing the second half.
The Clarets were twice denied by the woodwork – Chris Eagles livened up a largely dull first half by rattling the crossbar, while Jay Rodriguez did the same in a more entertaining second period.
The first-half substitute had Burnley's best chances, but when the woodwork wasn't getting in the striker's way, Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni was.
Eagles went close with a couple more chances and was involved in some eye catching passing moves and overlaps which should have generated more joy in front of goal for Brian Laws' men.
Brian Jensen was called into action a couple of times in the opposite goal too – diving bravely at quick-footed substitute Wilfried Zaha's feet, before tipping a stoppage time effort from Neil Danns onto the post to preserve a welcome shut-out.
