CHORLEY’S Michael Jennings could fight for a world title as soon as December if he beats Kell Brook on Saturday, according to Frank Warren.

Jennings takes on Brook in an eliminator for the WBO world welterweight belt at Birmingham’s LG Arena this weekend and Warren, who promotes both fighters, is already making plans for the winner to fight for the world title in December.

Manny Pacquiao currently holds the belt but Warren said: “I believe Pacquiao will move up a weight and vacate.

“Kell is in the number one spot (in the WBO rankings) and on Saturday Michael can sabotage any chances he’s got of fighting for a world chance.

“The winner will fight for a world title and we’re looking to do that in December.”

Jennings lost to Miguel Cotto when he challenged for the WBO title in New York last year and the 33-year-old said: “I went over there to win and I got beat, but I had no intentions of packing in after that.

“I’ve still got loads left in me. I feel as good now as I did five years ago.”

Saturday’s fight will be shown on Sky’s pay-per-view service but arena tickets are still available from the Ticket Factory on 0844 338 8000 or ticketfactory.com.
