ACCRINGTON Stanley can tonight equal their longest unbeaten run during a Football League season since their demise in 1962.
Stanley are yet to lose in League Two this term after starting with one win and five draws.
They went seven league games without defeat in their first campaign after promotion back to the Football League in 2006 and their best since then was six matches two seasons ago – a run that was ended by a home loss to Lincoln.
Three games unbeaten at the end of last season actually extend their current run to nine matches.
Stanley have conceded just one goal in the league – a record equalled only by Chelsea – but Coleman is keen to start turning draws into victories.
“The fact that we’ve stopped the rot and we’re not conceding as many goals has given the lads confidence,” he said.
“But we have to now build on that and try to win games.
“If you win two and lose two, you’re two points better off than drawing all four.
“If there’s a criticism this season, the shooting’s been appalling and we’ve wasted far too many chances.
“We were disappointed to lose late on at Lincoln last season to two sloppy goals.
“For the lads who are still here, there will be a score to settle.”
